Finom launches Metal, the first Premium Business Card designed to deliver a tangible return on corporate spending.
In the premium business‑card segment, perceived value is often tied to the status the card conveys.

Finom, a European financial platform for SMEs and entrepreneurs serving more than 200,000 companies, today announces the launch of Metal, its first premium business card: a Visa debit card designed to deliver concrete, measurable value to businesses. Metal is priced at €29.99 per month and is included at no extra cost in the Grow plan.
Two Cost Drivers Growing in Importance for SMEs
As small businesses proliferate, two expense categories are also rising: fees on foreign‑currency transactions and the expanding number of subscriptions to software and artificial‑intelligence tools.
Both categories are accelerating rapidly. In less than a year, corporate spending on subscriptions to two or more AI tools has increased by more than 98%. Sixty percent of that spend is attributed solely to subscriptions to Claude (internal Finom data, November 2025 – June 2026).
A further significant cost is foreign‑currency operations: surcharges on payments in non‑Euro currencies can reach up to 5%* in addition to the exchange rate. With the summer season underway, this directly affects flights, hotels and representation expenses paid in currencies other than the Euro.
Metal was created to lower both of these cost lines, rewarding recurring business spend and eliminating Finom’s markup on payments made in other currencies.
“For more than a decade premium business cards have focused mainly on prestige. We designed Metal to provide a tangible financial return,” says Kristjan Kaar, Chief Product Officer at Finom. “For a company operating across multiple markets and currencies, the real value isn’t the card itself but the economic benefits it generates: cash‑back on spend and no extra fees on foreign‑currency payments.”
What Metal Includes
1.2 % cash‑back on business expenses, capped at €5,000 per month – the highest cash‑back tier Finom offers.
Zero Finom markup on card payments in currencies other than the Euro for spend up to €100,000 per month (specific conditions apply for transactions executed outside market hours).
Monthly access to airport lounges, two Fast‑Track passes, and two 1 GB eSIMs each month.
Reimbursement of the first month’s subscription to leading AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Cursor) when paid with Metal – reserved for new subscribers and counted within the monthly cash‑back limit.
18‑gram metal Visa Debit card with express delivery.
Beyond Prestige: A Card Built for Measurable Benefits
Premium cards often involve trade‑offs: some waive foreign‑exchange fees but offer limited or no cash‑back; others provide generous cash‑back but charge extra on currency conversions. Consumer‑oriented metal premium cards typically deliver benefits that are less relevant for business operations**.
Finom designed Metal to combine the best of both worlds: a 1.2 % cash‑back (up to €5,000 per month) and up to €100,000 per month in foreign‑currency spend with no additional markups.
Pricing and Availability
Metal is available as an add‑on for €29.99 per month to Finom Pro, Grow, and Enterprise customers. The Grow plan includes a Metal card at no extra charge.
The card is offered across all European markets where Finom operates. Customers on the Solo, Basic, and Smart plans can obtain Metal by upgrading their plan.
“SMEs are now spending more than ever on AI‑tool subscriptions and international payments,” notes Ivan Kolykhalov, Product Manager – Cards at Finom. “Metal helps reduce those costs while rewarding everyday purchases that enable companies to operate and grow.”
Looking Ahead
Metal marks the first step in Finom’s premium‑offering roadmap. In the coming months, additional perks and functionalities tailored to specific European markets will be introduced.
